North of the river we find the remaining boroughs of Tower Hamlets, which includes much of the traditional 'East End' of London including Stepney and Bow. Nowadays, part of the 'City' can be found there including some of the highest buildings in London. Kensington and Chelsea, in the West end where Harrods, peter Jones and Harvey Nichols are among the big stores to investigate. Hammersmith and Fulham includes the new London Westfield shopping centre within its boundaries. Parts of Hackney date back to the 13th century. Camden features the famous Camden Market, well worth a visit. Brent, in North London has the Brent Cross Shopping Centre. Ealing, Ealing Studios is the oldest continuously working film studio in the world. Because of its proximity to Heathrow airport and good links to Central London, Hounslow has many hotels, some developed from former office buildings. The borough of Havering is to the North East of Central London, to the south the borough extends into the London Riverside redevelopment area of the Thames Gateway. Barking and Dagenham, borders on Havering, with the river Rom forming the boundary. Redbridge is also close, The name comes from an original bridge over the River Rodong which was demolished in 1921. The bridge was made of red brick, whereas most other bridges in the area were made of white stone. The University of East London has two campuses in Newham. Waltham Forest is one of five London boroughs which have been designated host boroughs for the 2012 Summer Olympics. Two local landmarks in Haringey are the Alexandra Palace and Tottenham Hotspur Football Ground. The borough of Enfield has a long history of armament manufacture, the Royal Small Arms Factory being based there. Barnet is the site of an ancient and well-known horse fair whence comes the rhyming slang of barnet fair or barnet for 'hair'. Harrow is well known for the school that has preserved the affluent and leafy nature of the area. Hillingdon is the western most borough of Central London. Westminster has a large concentration of London's historic landmarks including Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace.
